Library Disaster

Next door renovating and accidentally damaged my roof,
this is what happened after a thunderstorm.

Books all lying on the floor to dry.

The bottom shelves are all wet, some even got mouldy.

My poor Janice VanCleave's book (Food and Nutrition for Every Kid).

Compare the damaged book with it's original look, sob sob,
this is my "Exploring the History of Medicine" by John Hudson Tiner.

This book is so badly damaged that the corners of the pages stuck together,
forced to cut them away.

Mouldy book.

More mouldy books.

Mould.

Mould on one of the shelves.

Damaged wet shelf.

I noticed that besides the bottom shelves,
I could also feel dampness on the back of other shelves.
To be safe, I pull out all the books away from the back.

  1. this is horrid!!! You should make your neighbour or the contractor pay for it. the least give you new shelves. But books are oh so precious. *sigh*
