Henri Rousseau and Tunnel Book

In October 2014, we learned about the artist Henri Rousseau.
.
.
.
.
Here is a book to go with it
but since my order had not arrived,
we watched its book trailer on Youtube.
.
.
.
We also talked about some of Rousseau's paintings,
mainly those with animals and jungle scenes.
.
Here are two of them.
.
The Sleeping Gypsy, 1897

The Dream, 1910
.
You can also find many of his paintings here.
For high resolution paintings that can be enlarged to see the detail,
click on the pictures in Wikipedia.
.
.
During discussion, we talked about foreground, middle ground, and background.
.
Also watched this video to understand the different layers.
.
.
For hands-on project, we made tunnel books.
.
.
Here is a good example of the structure of a tunnel book,
.
.
.
I made some changes for mine,
instead of having the closure coming out from the front,
I placed them coming out from the back.
.
.
Here are some samples of the children's works.
